Workshops and facilitation: finding unexpected insights

Step into a space where scepticism transforms into discovery. My workshops and facilitation sessions are designed to unlock hidden potential and create real human connection. Explore how applied puppetry can bring clarity and collaboration to your team or organisation.

The unexpected magic of my workshops

Most people walk into our workshops feeling sceptical, or at least uncertain. Many have never held a puppet in their adult life. By the end, almost everyone says the same thing: “I completely underestimated the puppets.” That moment — when scepticism turns into something unexpected — is exactly what I design for.

Embrace awkwardness

In my workshops, there is no pressure to perform, no expectation to be perfect, and no fear of being judged. Awkwardness is not just welcome — it is celebrated. When I stop trying to appear polished and professional, something much more honest emerges.

Freedom to play and connect

People laugh. They play. They become temporarily carefree — like children who have forgotten to worry. In that freedom, they talk about things they wouldn’t normally talk about and solve problems they thought were unsolvable.

Cathartic relief and clarity

Participants leave feeling lighter — that specific cathartic relief that comes from finally being truly heard. This is not a performance workshop or merely arts and crafts; it is a profound journey into self-discovery and problem-solving.

Who benefits from my applied puppetry workshops?

My workshops are designed for any organisation working with people who struggle to communicate, feel unheard, or need a safe space to explore difficult experiences. I tailor our sessions to meet diverse needs across various sectors.

Educational settings

I work with universities and colleges, as well as schools, especially those focusing on special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and alternative provision. Puppetry foster communication and understanding in supportive environments.

Health & wellbeing

I have worked with NHS staff, care homes and dementia wards — bringing puppetry and clay work into spaces where words alone aren’t always enough. I create gentle, safe spaces for emotional exploration and human connection.

Corporate & professional

Sometimes the most serious breakthroughs happen through the most unexpected methods.

I work with teams, entrepreneurs and professionals who need to think differently, communicate more openly, or simply rediscover the joy of collaboration.

No suits required. Just curiosity

Community & social

I work with charities, community organisations, refugee and asylum seeker support groups, and women’s organisations — bringing puppetry to those who need a safe, creative space to be heard.

I also run community workshops independently, sometimes funded, sometimes ticketed — open to anyone who wants to explore, play and connect.

Creative & cultural

My workshops are perfect for arts organisations, festivals, museums and galleries running participation programmes.

There is something about puppetry in a creative or cultural space that feels completely natural — playful, surprising and deeply human. I bring curiosity, creativity and a little bit of unexpected magic to every event.

Overcome challenges with playful insight

Applied puppetry creates the safety, playfulness and distance that allows common barriers to dissolve — so real conversation, real collaboration, and real solutions can finally emerge.

Clearer perspectives

Participants leave with something unexpected — answers they discovered within themselves. Through puppetry, people view their challenges from the outside. The puppet becomes a mirror, creating distance that makes everything suddenly clearer.

What happens after

After a session, participants will see their challenges from a fresh perspective and think more clearly without fear or pressure. They will collaborate more openly with others and access creative thinking they didn’t know they had. They discover that in a playful, nonjudgmental space — anything is possible.
